On 24th May 2022, the Dean of AAGBS, Prof Dr Syed Jamal Abdul Nasir Syed Mohamad together with AAGBS’ Deputy Dean of Industry and International Linkages and the Coordinator of Corporate Communication and Internationalization visited Istanbul University, Turkey to discuss potential collaborative activities for students and faculty members of both UiTM and Istanbul Universiti. The team met with Prof Dr Ayse Zisan Furat who is the International Academic Relations Chairman, Ms Deniz Celik, the Office responsible for Bilateral Multilateral Relations and Ms Aysegul Unal from the International Relations Office of Istanbul University. The AAGBS team is accompanied by UiTM’s Head of Public Relations and Media Unit, Mr Azroz Mohd. The discussion was fruitful as both parties have agreed to work on activities which include student and staff mobility and joint research in the areas of Islamic Economics and Islamic Finance. Both universities have signed an MoU on 1st March 2021, thanks to Associate Prof Dr Roslina Ab Wahid and Prof Dr Necmetin Kizilkaya who initiated the linkage between the two universities. With this academic visit, AAGBS is on its way to kickstart the activities between the institutions.
