Global Prominence: Dr. Roslina Ab Wahid, AP Of Quality Systems & Operational Excellence

2017
Presented a paper at London Winter Business Research Conference, Imperial College, London (11-12 December 2017). Paper entitled “Operational Excellence through Process Improvement at UiTM”. Won the ‘Best Paper Award’ by International Review of Business Research Papers Journal and later on published by the journal.

2018

Started a one-year industrial attachment at Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) from 1st. April 2018 to 31st. March 2019.

The Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) helps markets work better by providing internationally recognized accreditation services that create economic benefit. It provides accreditation assessment of certification and inspection bodies for conformity to JAS-ANZ assessment criteria; develop assessment criteria that must be met before certifiers and inspectors can gain JAS-ANZ accreditation; manage and administer schemes by providing a framework for efficient management of schemes on behalf of scheme owners; and provides peer review services through review activities of other accreditation bodies, to verify conformity with International Accreditation Forum (IAF) criteria.

Appointed as Project Leader for a Delphi Study on Auditor Education for the 21st Century. Team members comprise of Prof. Nigel Grigg from Massey University (New Zealand) and Prof. Daniel Prajogo from Monash University (Australia). Apart from being project leader and chief investigator of the project, other activities during the attachment were networking visits with the industry in Australia, speaking engagements and sharing sessions with the industry, presenting papers at conference and meetings, visiting scholar at Massey University, New Zealand, and conducting training session for management and staff at Canberra and Wellington offices.

Activities during industrial attachment:

    Meeting with Mr. Andrew Baines, President & CEO; Mr. Brian Weeks, Vice President Operations & Chief Operating Officer; and Mr. Kaylon Soertsz, Data Analytics Manager.



  2. Meeting with Auditor Education project team member Prof. Daniel Prajogo from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia (5 July, 2018).



  3. Speaking engagement & knowledge sharing session with the Australian Organisation for Quality members and the industry, Adelaide, Australia (18 July, 2018). Speaking and sharing on “Implementing & Transitioning to ISO 9001:2015 in higher education”.

  4. Attending JAS-ANZ retreat at East Hotel, Canberra, Australia (25 September 2018)

  5. Presenting at Qualcon 2018, Brisbane, Australia (14-16 October, 2018). This conference was organized by Australian Organisation for Quality. Paper entitled “Implementing ISO 9001 in a large-scale services environment”. Networking with representatives from Australian industry. Invited as one of the panel on “Culture and Quality”.

  6. Visiting Scholar at Massey University, New Zealand (12-16 November, 2018) and meeting with Auditor Education project team member Prof. Nigel Grigg. Presented a paper on “Transitioning to ISO 9001:2015 in higher education”.

  7. Conducting a 90-minute course on “Delivering Better Service through Consensus” to management and staff at Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) for offices in Canberra & Wellington (12 December, 2018).
