Exchange of the AAGBS-IBFIM MoA

Exchange of the AAGBS-IBFIM MoA

On 24 May 2019, AAGBS held a ceremony to commemorate the signing of the MoA between AAGBS and Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM). The signed MoAs were exchanged in a ceremony attended by the staff from both AAGBS and IBFIM as well as the school’s MIBF students. Representing IBFIM was the CEO, Mr Yusry Yusoff and AAGBS, none other than the Dean, Prof Dr Nor’Azam Mastuki.

With the MoA, the MIBF students from AAGBS would graduate with an additional paper qualification, namely the Associate Qualification in Islamic Finance (AQIF). The certification is developed based on IBFIM Qualifications Framework and is accorded Full Accreditation by the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA). It is a value-added certification programme to ensure the graduates have a competitive edge over other Islamic Finance graduates. It is also aimed at building students’ expertise which would increase their price tag in the job market. With this certification, students could also easily and confidently rely on their ability to meet international industry benchmarks and produce work of a higher and more consistent quality. The school looks forward to producing graduates with greater skills, knowledge and expertise in Islamic Finance and the AAGBS-IBFIM collaboration could spearhead it in that direction.
