Academic Trip to Australia: AAGBS’ MBA students from UiTM Perak visited Canberra and Sydney

Recently, the AAGBS MBA (Executive mode groups 22 & 23) students from Perak state campus went on an academic trip to Australia. They were there from 21-29 September 2019 and made visits to University of Canberra, Canberra, and University of New South Wales, Sydney.

At the University of Canberra, several sharing sessions were held with faculty members from the university and guest panellists from Australian National University, government officials and the Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia in Australia. During one of these sessions, the students, particularly from Part 3, also presented their Applied Business Research proposals to obtain feedbacks from the guest panellists. They had the opportunity to also meet YBhg Dato’ Sudha Devi, the High Commissioner of Malaysia in Australia. The visits to these places were invaluable for the following reasons:

  1. The opportunity to discuss various topics relating to management and business with the panel from a global perspective. Theories learned in classroom were applied in the discussions.
  2. The ability to gain feedbacks from international reviewers enriched the students’ applied business research proposals.
  3. The chance to observe how teaching and learning are carried out in international universities.

The visits also allowed the exchange of ideas and experience between the MBA students and lecturers from UiTM with the faculty members and students from both Australian universities. In addition, they paved the way for both parties for potential collaborations in the realm of teaching and learning, research and consultancy between UiTM and University of Canberra in particular.
